From Building Insight to Enterprise Impact: How Sanalife Energy Scaled After CodeLaunch

As a 2023 CodeLaunch Alumni Winner, Sanalife Energy (formerly InTech Energy) knows firsthand how quickly momentum can compound when preparation meets opportunity. For many startups, growth comes in stages.

For Sanalife Energy, it came in waves.

What began as a focused energy solution has evolved into a full-scale platform helping enterprises understand, manage, and optimize how their buildings operate across energy, water, and gas.

A Company Built for a Changing Energy Landscape

Sanalife Energy sits at the intersection of rising costs and increasing complexity.

As energy prices climb and infrastructure demands grow, companies are being forced to rethink how their buildings operate. Sanalife steps in with E360, its enterprise energy management system, designed to bring clarity to that chaos. The system integrates fragmented building systems into a single, connected view, giving operators real-time intelligence on everything from electricity and natural gas usage to water usage and overall building performance.

“We help companies understand how their buildings are operating… and optimize that using AI and machine learning,” said founder Matt Bonasera.

That level of visibility has become increasingly critical as organizations look to control costs, improve efficiency, and scale smarter across entire portfolios, not just individual buildings.

Since its early days, Sanalife Energy has expanded both who they serve and what they deliver.

“We’ve had exponential growth,” Bonasera shared. “We brought on major investors… and expanded partnerships with multi-billion-dollar companies who now use our product regularly.”

What once focused on smaller commercial environments now serves Fortune 500 customers across hospitality, manufacturing, commercial real estate, and healthcare.

The company has also expanded its capabilities through acquisition and product growth, adding deeper functionality across energy monitoring, building automation, and AI-driven building

optimization. The result is a more holistic solution. One that doesn’t just track data but helps businesses make smarter decisions about how their buildings function day to day.

Where CodeLaunch Fit In

As the company was growing, CodeLaunch played a key role. Not by changing the business, but by sharpening how it was communicated.

CodeLaunch Houston Champion, 2023

“I think what CodeLaunch really did was help refine our pitch… it helped us get to a laser focus on what we were trying to say,” Bonasera said.

That clarity became a turning point.

The process of refining their pitch didn’t just improve how they presented. It reshaped how they communicated with customers, investors, and partners. That tighter message became foundational as the company entered its next phase of growth.

“There’s a huge amount of publicity… and you get to use that benefit for years to come,” Bonasera shared.

Today, much of that momentum has translated into inbound demand and enterprise-level opportunities.

“The majority of our business is actually inbound… multi-billion dollar companies call us to do demos.”

For a company now working with enterprise clients, that shift from outbound hustle to inbound growth is a defining milestone.

Advice to Founders Considering CodeLaunch

Bonasera is direct when it comes to founders considering CodeLaunch:

“If you’re thinking about it, you’d be foolish not to do it. It’s free. There’s no equity.”

But access alone isn’t enough. The founders who benefit most are the ones who treat the opportunity seriously.

“It’s a pitch competition… you can have the greatest idea in the world, but if you can’t sell it, it won’t go anywhere.”

His advice is simple: prepare, practice, and show up ready. Because the opportunity is real, but so is the work required to make the most of it.

What’s Next for Sanalife Energy

Sanalife Energy is building toward the next phase of E360: adding digital twin capabilities, new iOS and Android mobile apps, and an upcoming AI Assistant that advises facility managers in real time on how to optimize their buildings’ performance. The team is hiring across product, engineering, and customer success to support that roadmap

Building Beyond the Stage

Looking back, CodeLaunch was part of the journey, but not the whole story.

“I see CodeLaunch as a real stepping stone,” Bonasera said.

For Sanalife Energy, that step helped unlock something bigger:

A path from early traction to enterprise scale, built on clarity, execution, and a product designed for where the market is going next. Learn more at www.sanalifeenergy.com.
