From CodeLaunch Finalist to a $21M Raise: Inside Propmatch’s Breakout Journey

When Propmatch entered the CodeLaunch ecosystem, founder Gonzalo Acuna was not chasing a single moment. He was chasing momentum.

That momentum arrived faster than expected.

Just months after competing as a CodeLaunch LATAM finalist, Propmatch closed a $21 million funding round, the largest ever by a CodeLaunch finalist alumnus. The milestone is even more notable given today’s tighter fundraising environment.

Building “the NASDAQ for Real Estate”

Propmatch is tackling one of the world’s most entrenched markets by rethinking how real estate assets are bought, exchanged, and made liquid.

“Propmatch is the first real estate market where you can buy, exchange, or make your pieces of property into liquid money,” Gonzalo explained. “We can say it’s the first NASDAQ for real estate.”

That vision, combining real estate, liquidity, and global access, became a defining part of the company’s narrative as it scaled investor conversations across markets

The CodeLaunch Moment

Gonzalo first encountered CodeLaunch during the LATAM semifinalist reveal in Guadalajara. Sitting in the front row with a notebook in hand, he sensed immediately that this was not a typical startup event.

“The first thing that I noticed about this event is that it was different,” he said. “It was something that I wanted to be part of.”

When Propmatch was announced as a finalist, the reaction was not celebration. It was clarity.

“Instead of getting excited, I just got relieved,” Gonzalo admitted. “And then I thought, ‘Damn, we need to do a lot more work.’”

That mindset shaped everything that followed. Selection was not an endpoint. It was a responsibility.

From the Stage to the Capital

The impact of CodeLaunch did not end with the competition.

Following the event, Propmatch’s visibility increased rapidly. Investor conversations accelerated, and media attention followed. What stood out was not spectacle. It was substance.

“To be honest, it did elevate us. It was pretty immediate,” Gonzalo said when reflecting on how CodeLaunch changed the company’s ability to open doors.

One pivotal moment came during a whirlwind 42-hour trip to Milan to finalize investment documents, a clear signal that global capital had taken notice.

“I just went from the airport to the hotel, from the hotel to the signature place, and then back to Mexico,” he recalled.

The result was a $21M raise that positioned Propmatch among the most valuable emerging proptech companies in Mexico. The company achieved that milestone in under a year of operation.

Speed as a Competitive Advantage

Beyond exposure, CodeLaunch helped Propmatch move faster.

Through the PCL (Professional Coder League) team Improving assigned to PropMatch, the company accelerated key product milestones, saving an estimated six months of build time. For an early-stage startup, that speed proved critical as investor interest increased.

It was not about building everything. It was about building the right thing, faster.

Not Winning, and Still Winning

Propmatch did not win the CodeLaunch LATAM competition. That outcome ultimately worked in the company’s favor.

Not taking the top spot forced deeper reflection, sharper messaging, and stronger investor conversations. The experience reinforced a simple truth. Success is not defined by trophies. It is defined by progress.

Advice for Future Founders

When asked what advice he would give future CodeLaunch finalists, Gonzalo kept it simple and deeply human.

“Think about the person you want to solve their problem for,” he said. “Talk about it as if you wanted your mom to understand it. Investors want meaning as well, not just numbers.”

That philosophy, he believes, is what connects founders to audiences, investors, and long-term believers.

A Milestone for the CodeLaunch Community

Propmatch’s $21M raise is more than a company milestone. It is a signal.

It shows what is possible when founders pair conviction with preparation and use early opportunities as catalysts rather than conclusions.

As CodeLaunch continues to support founders across global competitions, Propmatch’s journey stands as a reminder that the journey does not end on stage. It begins there.

What This Means for Future Founders

Propmatch’s journey offers a clear takeaway for founders considering what comes next.

Early-stage opportunities like CodeLaunch USA 2026 are not about a single night on stage. They are about preparation, visibility, and learning how to communicate a vision under real pressure. For founders building with intention, those moments can become catalysts long after the competition ends.

Applications for CodeLaunch U.S. 2026 are now open, and the next group of founders will soon begin their own journey.
